JURY PAY
Jurors have the right to be absent from employment when summoned to serve.  A juror is paid $40.00 per day, with the exception that no payment is made if the juror is working for an employer with 10 or more employees. In that case the employer is legally obligated to pay the employee a minimum of $40.00 for each of the first three days, regardless whether the employee is a part-time or full-time employee.  New York State will pay $40.00 per day starting with the fourth day, provided you are not being paid by your employer too.

Part-time employees earning less than $40.00 per day should inform the jury office of the amount of wages earned, since the State of New York will pay the difference.

If you are self-employed, unemployed, on disability or on public assistance, you will be paid $40.00 per day starting with the first day of jury service.

You will receive your jury pay-check, directly from Albany, approximately two weeks from the last day of the trial.
