Work Hours , Locations of Court & Parking:
Our courts generally operate between the hours of 9 A.M. and 5 P.M.  The jury office is open between the hours of 8 A.M. and 5 P.M.  Direct all questions to the jury office at 439-7239.

Lockport is the county seat in Niagara County.  Most criminal trials are held at the Niagara County Courthouse, located at Park Avenue and Hawley Streets in Lockport.   Grand Jury is also located at the Lockport location.   Jurors reporting to serve in Lockport should arrive early to find convenient parking, free of charge.  There is a parking lot both beside and across the street from the building.  Civil cases are held in Niagara Falls at the Niagara County Civic Building, 775 Third Street,  and there is also free parking there.  It is also important  to arrive early to be sure that you are able to avail yourself of a parking spot.  Avoid parking in areas where you may be ticketed.

Restaurant Availability
There are restaurants in close proximity of both court establishments.  We have a lunch counter in the Niagara Falls Building and hope to have a cafeteria style lunch arrangement in the Lockport location very soon.  Lockport is presently undergoing many changes and new jury assembly rooms will be established to better meet the needs of the jurors.  Please be patient and understanding, as these changes will cause some inconvenience and will take time.

White Information Sheet and Compensation:
It is essential that every juror make an effort to give the jury office correct information with regard to their employer’s payment policy while they serve as jurors.  We make an earnest effort to be sure that each payroll is done accurately and each juror is paid what is due them,  in a timely manner.    We try to make your stay with us as pleasant as can be and we are well aware that the issue of compensation is highly important to you.  We strive to make your service as convenient and burden free as possible.  Take time to check with your employer to be sure you submit correct payment information at the time you appear.  You will receive an official written document to submit to your employer, for verification of service to our courts.  If you need this documentation, please be sure that you request this letter from us while at the courthouse.

Service Credit:
Niagara County practices crediting jurors with six years good service once they have served our courts.  Your service is complete once you have appeared and have stayed for jury selection, even if you are not selected to serve on a case.  Occasionally, jurors call several times throughout the week; but they never have to appear in court.  Those jurors will be given special instructions so that they too are able to receive credit for service.
