I am pleased to welcome you to jury service in Niagara County.  The law provides that a collective body of eligible citizens shall perform as jurors to resolve cases brought before the court.  By performing this civic duty and participating in the jury process, you help to insure the individual rights of each citizen. The Constitution of the United States and the State of New York guarantees the right to trial by jury when that need arises .  Eligible citizens shall perform as jurors and it is a role to assume with pride.  We have made great progress in jury reform throughout New York State over the past few years and we plan to continue with that agenda.  This is an ongoing process far from complete and we welcome your suggestions and ideas. We recognize that jury service may be burdensome, as it undoubtedly interrupts your daily life.  Please be assured that we diligently work to make this service as comfortable and satisfying as possible.  We hope to make your experience with our courts rewarding and memorable.
