Other Information

Parking:   There are 2 parking lots at the Little Valley site, one in front of the building and the main larger lot behind the building.  There is designated handicap parking at the side of the building in Little Valley.  At the Olean site, there is a large parking lot in front of the building with designated handicap parking spots.

Automated Call-in Number:   Summoned jurors must call in before reporting on the last business day before their service date at telephone #(716) 938-9111 Ext. 2383.  This phone number requires a touch tone phone.   An alternate number for jurors without touch tone service is (716) 938-6008.

Grand Jury Service:
A term of service for a Grand Juror will run for approximately three (3) months or until the next term of Grand Jury.  You will serve for approximately eight to ten (8-10) days during the three month term, usually working one (1) day a week, every other week, normally Thursday.  You must be available during this time.  Your exact schedule will be determined by the District Attorney who in turn will advise the Commissioner’s Office.  We will have the schedule available to serving jurors and you will be instructed to either telephone our office or we will notify you in writing.

Security Check-In:
All jurors must pass through a metal detection system before entering the courtroom.  Weapons of any kind and all sharp or dangerous instruments are prohibited.  Your cooperation and patience is appreciated in this effort to keep our facilities safe.

Proof of Service:
If a statement showing your attendance for jury service is required by your employer, please contact the Jury Commissioner’s Office and we will be happy to supply you with the same.  

Ineligibility Period:
After your jury service is complete, you will be exempt from jury service for any court within Cattaraugus County for FOUR (4) YEARS.  However, if you serve more than 10 days during your term of service, you will may be exempt for a total of FOUR (4) to EIGHT (8) YEARS.

Court Hours:
Court is normally held between the hours of  9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Proper Dress:
The Court requires that you dress in a manner that is respectful to the Court.  No shorts, cutoffs, tank tops or halter tops are permitted
